About Us!

About Us

CCAPS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that benefits abandoned or abused animals in Columbia County Arkansas. The shelter houses over 100 different dogs & cats and takes in over 1000 unwanted animals each year. The shelter is maintained through donations from the community as well as proceeds from Second Chances Thrift Store. We do not get any city, county, state or federal funding. The Second Chances Thrift Store is also a nonprofit organization which raises money to maintain the Animal Shelter for Columbia County. Each organization heavily relies on donations and volunteer work from the community. Each item that is sold at the thrift store helps provide money to maintain and operate the shelter.

Our Programs

Spay and Neuter   Vouchers
CCAPS offers spay and neuter vouchers to help reduce the cost of these services. Vouchers can be picked up during operating hours and must be utilized within 90 days. They are exclusively valid at Eastridge Animal Hospital in Magnolia. We recommend scheduling an appointment in advance to ensure you can use the voucher within the 90-day timeframe.
Trap and Release (TNR)
Additionally, our Trap and Release (TNR) program allows you to set out live traps for feral cats. These cats will be trapped, spayed and neutered, and then returned to their environment.
A Dogs Day Out
Looking for a fun way to spend time with our furry friends? CCAPS offers volunteer opportunity to take a dog on an adventure! During operating hours, simply ask one of our staff members which dogs are available for a walk at the park or a special treat- a pup cup!
